Awards season is here!!! I finally had a chance to watch the red carpet special for the 2011 golden globes and all I can say is emerald green! By far the most stand out color of the night worn beautifully by Angelina Jolie, Mila Kunis, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. It`s left me green with envy and I will be purchasing something peacock green just as soon as I finish writing this.

Make no mistake, if you wind up with this bag on your shoulder, you`re going to be its arm candy, not the other way around. The limited edition New Jackie Ostrich bag is a definite attention grabber, and there are only six in existence. I say it is as gorgeous as everyone says it is – but only if you`re 35 and up. Personally, I just couldn`t pull this off, nor would I want to, but it would look incredible on my very sweet, and very stylish aunt Anna in Amalfi. She would totally rock this bag.

Louis Vuitton handbags come and go, but I want this Louis Vuitton Cuir Art Deco Bag to come and stay in my life forever! I can`t get enough of its classy and classic looks that evoke the `20s and `30s—one of my favorite time periods for fashion. I`m sure you`ll agree that this bag is a winner.
Louis Vuitton handbags, for all their charm and timeless luxury, can get a little repetitive. Often they`ll take a classic handbag like the Speedy and add a shock of color here, tie a little tassel on there, and call it a new bag. Moreover, sometimes you want a bag that isn`t covered from top to bottom with logos and monogrammed patterns—another go-to LV aesthetic choice. These days Proenza Schouler can do no wrong as far as people here in NY are concerned. Two cute boys who wooed Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors before they even graduated from Parsons, and who sold their entire thesis collection to Barney`s New York? And who named their fashion house after their mothers? It`s a fairytale.
The trouble is, everyone`s too busy glowing in the light of their “new generation” fashion, and pinching their cheeks to be seriously critical of anything they make. With the PS2 (2011 Resort collection) in hideous mustard yellow crocodile suede I`m bursting the bubble. It`s terrible and it will disappear when the dream (illusion) is over.
Before the mindless lauding of everything Proenza Schouler in this city infects the rest of the world, someone has to say something. After all, the ones who lose the most from the lack of negative criticism are designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. It dilutes their successes and the more they get away with bad styles like this one the more they`re going ¬ to screw up in the future. (Believe me, I`ve seen them at a few parties…they`re still easily swayed by praise).

The Empreinte collection is the latest permanent collection from Louis Vuitton and it`s a bonafide hit. Personally, I wasn`t a fan of their last couple of permanent collections (the Nomade and Suhali lines are a little boring, no?), so it`s great to finally see a wonderful and unique new leather line from LV.

Ok, it is novel – pink fox tail, two tone denim monogram, tassels! But who would possibly wear it? If there`s any doubt whether this Louis Vuitton Denim Sunray handbag is geek or chic, let me clear it up for you. It`s awful. Incredibly, tastelessly hideous.

Don`t get me wrong; I love Chanel handbags as much as the next girl, but sometimes they just make me mad. Take this Chanel zipped quilted lambskin leather tote. Since when were saggy grey marshmallows considered stylish? Because that`s exactly what this Chanel handbag looks like. Chanel has produced some of the most iconic handbags of all time, and they`re known for reinventing their old classics in fabulous ways season after season. But this particular take on the classic quilted leather Chanel handbag is just not good in my opinion.
