Spring Trend Alert: A How To On Embracing The Bohemian Look

Hippie, hipster, Boho-Chic, whatever you like to call it, the bohemian look is an essential style for Spring 2011. For some it`s just straight up how they dress…I can think of tons of women who have been rocking the bohemian look since 2005 at least. There`s nothing wrong with that. It`s hot! To keep it fresh though, you`ve got to add a fresh breath of the 2011 spirit that so many designers have been on to this year. It`s a thrifty, care free look, but if you don`t want to look like a flower child or a beggar you have to really pay attention to the details. I think it`s all about the accessories.

If you are an eco loving fashionista this may just be the bag for you. The Marc by Marc Jacobs Franny python effect PVC tote is an incredibly chic edition to any animal lovers closet. The bag is free of any animal skin inside and out and still maintains the city girl chic we have come to know and love from Marc Jacobs. The bag has a slouchy casual shape, a removable shoulder strap and gold hardware to boot. Shown above in the smoke color it is also available in black, cream, and a really knock out red. Even if you are not of the PETA persuasion you will also get a kick out of this handy tote. I give this Marc by Marc Jacobs bag an eco friendly chic, how about you?

There are a lot of things I take into consideration when purchasing what I call an “investment bag”…color, fabrication, function… but when I see Gucci bags it all just flies out the window. The Spring 2011 collection from Gucci has got me so hot for a new Gucci bag that I can barely wait for the April delivery to stores to get here. Tick-tock, Tick-tock. Gucci bags have always had a classy and timeless appeal to them, but this season they have really raised the bar adding what can only be described in my eyes as seventies vintage, rustic, disco touches to their designs. Did I really just say rustic and disco in the same sentence? Take a look at my Gucci Spring 2011 picks and you will see what I mean.

So I have been feeling kind of striped lately. I am dreaming of a Spring day when I will be waltzing the NYC streets in a striped top and shoe combination that will knock the socks off of fashion connoisseurs uptown and downtown.
