The Spring 2011 collection from Gucci has got me so hot for a new Gucci bag that I can barely wait for the April delivery to stores to get here. Tick-tock, Tick-tock. Gucci bags have always had a classy and timeless appeal to them, but this season they have really raised the bar adding what can only be described in my eyes as seventies vintage, rustic, disco touches to their designs. While wandering through a shopping mall upstate this weekend I found myself in a Coach store for the first time in ages. To my dismay I found a boatload of delicious bags that are on the cutting edge of cool. I was overwhelmed by icy metallic totes, ruched leather satchels and sequin novelty bags. No longer is the brand focused on the logo fabrications favored by mommies everywhere and the boring basic leather shapes I had come to expect from them. Coach is cool now guys…when did that happen?

I have to admit I never heard of designer Nancy Gonzales until I came across some new purses of hers on a website. Well hello Nancy where have you been all my life! The Columbian designer mostly makes her designs from crocodile and favors bright bold colors and interesting trims. True her bags aren`t as flashy as a LV or Gucci, or as fashion forward as a Wang or Chloe and you probably won`t be seeing them on the arm of young a-list stars, but something has to be said about her superior craftsmanship and unique view on what high-end designer bags should be.
